Hybrid rye
Deleplanque has been involved in the production of hybrid rye seed since 1985.
All productions are carried out in Beauce. In pre-bases and bases, the strip production scheme is required. Certified hybrid rye seed is propagated by sowing a technical blend of 95% sterile male seeds and 5% fertility restoring line.
For the first generations (pre-bases and bases), Deleplanque ensures all the roguing, an essential step for the production of quality commercial seeds.
The isolations required for the multiplication of hybrid rye seeds, ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 metres depending on the generation produced, led the company to create, in consultation with the entire agricultural profession, two protected areas. They have been officially in force since the decree of application published on 7th May, 1996 and published in the JORF no. 127 of 2nd June, 1996.
These two protected areas describe the rye production rules in Beauce and guarantee the necessary isolations for quality seed production.
All hybrid rye seed productions are set up by technical growers who are equipped with irrigation and have on-farm storage capacity.
The Beauce region also offers an early harvest, allowing the preparation and delivery of the hybrid rye seed at the end of July in northern Europe in the main production basins of consumption rye.
All the means implemented by Deleplanque in Beauce make it possible to offer a production of hybrid rye seeds of excellent quality (Germination power over 95%) with a very high regularity of yields.
